How To Start A Movie!

My son is home for Thanksgiving. He was doing research into 1920s luxury liners for something he’s writing. At the time, THE ship was the Ile De France, a floating art deco masterpiece. He learned that it was sold for scrap to a movie producer who used it as the set of a film about a shipboard disaster.

Luckily, THE LAST VOYAGE happened to be on TCM the day after he was researching it, so he watched.

Talk about NO SET UP, none at all! Zero. The story just STARTS…!!

Second shot in the film

The captain is handed a note: FIRE IN THE ENGINE ROOM.
