Here’s an opening to a film…

No Longer In The Running For Father of the Year!

I find it amazing that the 2 year in the car (that crashed after drag racing!) only had a few abrasions. Drag Racing Dad got off with back and wrist pain. If you want to start a character in a film at rock bottom, or worse, this might be a good spot.

This guy could have a great character arc… From: “I think I’ll go drag racing with my kid in back…” to: Opening a child care center for poor children, maybe.

But, you’d have to open the film with the drag racing / car crash. You can’t have a wreck like that late in the movie, and nobody get hurt, and have any reader buy it. Crazy stuff has to happen at the beginning.
